LATINO DESIGN HISTORIES | Modernity in Black and White: Art and Image, Race and Identity in Brazil, 1890-1945
The Society of Design Arts and AIGA Baltimore held this online talk by Rafael Cardoso. As one of the leading historians of modern art and design in Brazil, Cardoso has authored numerous books and essays and curated major museum exhibitions. In his new book Modernity in Black and White, he provides a groundbreaking account of modern art and modernism in Brazil.
AIGA Baltimore and SoDA member Raquel Castedo moderated the event, part of a virtual series created to promote the rich and plural histories of Latin American production in design.
