Join the Society of Design Arts, AIGA Baltimore and Stevenson University for an online talk by Ebony Kenney. With special Guests: Nicole Fall, Joe Carter Brown and Keith Rich.
Beginning with a deep dive into a User Experience process that can be used to advance social justice, this talk introduces consciousness into our process of building Safe Third Spaces. We ask, in these hybrid spaces, what considerations could we make that we haven't considered before about the safety and belongingness of a user, uncovering unknown unknowns. And what responsibilities do we have as wielders of art? We will continue with an inquiry into the timeline from a historical to current culture approach to recognizing, creating and establishing value in a piece of created work. This value refers not to morals but value in terms of what we have assigned monetary representation or worth to. We will hear from industry professionals to add perspective and contextual depth.
