Graphic Design in Brazil
The history of graphic design in Brazil is as rich, mixed and diverse as the history of it's people. It officially started with the arrival of the Portuguese Royal Family in the country in 1808. The plurality of this history will be highlighted in this lecture, focusing on the past six decades. From the 1960's, when the first design college was created in Brazil, to the present day, we will see posters, logos, publications, album covers, typographies, that marked each decade. Get to know more about Brazilian graphic design, from the military dictatorship period, through the late 1980's redemocratization process, to today.
